We have disscused about the video that was attached by our lecture of Cross Cultural Understanding, Drs.Azwandi,M.Si. It is an interesting video, in fact, to enlarge our understanding about language and culture. And as the conclusion of our group, here it is:

1.WHAT MAJOR ISSUE THE SPEAKER IS DELIVERING?

Answer:

According to the results of our group discussion, namely, The main problem presented by the reader is discussing how to communicate better, especially in the global business world and about the perception of understanding what people see now.

2. WHAT CULTURES HE IS UTILIZING TO PRESENT HIS POINTS?

Answer: 

according to the results of our group discussion, namely, The culture used by speakers to express their opinions mostly uses culture from Norway, and from several other countries such as Italy. Readers also communicate using English.

3. WHAT THERE IMPORTANT POINTS HE IS EMPHASIZING IN HIS TALK.

Answer:

According to the results of our group discussion, there were three important points that were emphasized in the lecture, namely 1. Perception 2. Acceptance and familiarity 3. Curiosity.

To communicate better and better, it is so important for a speaker who wants to speak a foreign language to know the culture where the language is spoken. By understanding the culture of a native speaker, the communication among speaker and listener will run well too, and the knowledge of a language of a native speaker is first priority. And the communication will be smooth, of course

3 points he emphasized about culture, perception, acceptance and familiarity. From a different culture, he has Italian in him, he lives in Norway more than 1/3 of his life, but uses English as his language. These differences will lead to various kinds of perceptions and different reactions. the differences that exist will be united by acceptance and familiarity between these cultures.
