52% of young adults in US live with parents

A new study from the Pew Research Center has revealed that most adults under 30 years old are now living with their parents. The study says the number of 18- to 30-year-olds who live at home has hit an 80-year high. Around 52 per cent, or 26.6 million, of young people are at home with one or both of their parents. Researchers say that not since 1940 have so many of the younger generation lived with their parents. Only in the Great Depression of the 1930s was the percentage higher. The researchers say there has been a recent rise in the number of young adults moving back in with their parents. A contributory factor to this spike is the economic downturn and a rise in unemployment caused by coronavirus. Regarding the economy, financial analyst Jeremy Sopko said: "You have to take into account two huge factors: massive student loan debt and a lack of available work." He added: "It's a difficult situation that's been exacerbated by the pandemic and it may take...the better part of a decade for younger demographics to recover and be financially stable enough to leave home." Another commentator said the trend could have adverse effects on the property rental market. She said: "With a lot of young people not renting, not moving into cities...there is a lot of inventory coming onto the market." Mr Sopko concluded: "For the most part, nobody wants to be living at home with mom and dad."

  • Writing:

In my opinion in this section of writing I emphasize, not all children have to leave their parents at the age of 21 years. Why is that?

Answer: Maybe some children at the age of 21 leave their parents to continue their life, whether it's for higher education or to find work. but this is not responsibility, because in my opinion it is a decision that was taken without coercion or the listed rules. a lot of kids out there stay with their parents at that age. when they leave their parents it means they need a new home. New home means new building, it means we will grind more our nature material than it should be. i dont condone that.

Nan : Morning too, well yes I have been recently study abroad for short term 2 weeks in UK. Well my host family really nice, they are really loyal and decent.

Aca : Glad too hear that, so I have a question for you. What do you think is a good location to make a homestay ?

Nan : As far as I know a great location to make a homestay is near the university that you studies for and near the groceries. Of course get a homestay with a cozy features are a bonus for our pleasant.

Aca : yeah I agreed, and what kind of design is attractive?

Nan : well I think the design is the most attractive is minimalist and vintage design. Because the aesthethic of vintage will remind you with your nostalgia, you can put books ,stories and many old things that you like. With minimalist combination you can make a small place is more organized. But you know every person have their own taste
Aca : yeah I can feel your hype about design. So you already talking about stuff like books or stories so what other facilities should be provided?

Nan : I think extra facilities that you should provided is thermostat/hot blower, because in UK its quite cold no doubts. So you need warm air to keep yourself healthy. And maybe like Indonesian tradition you can add “semprotan” in the restroom. Since in UK you use toilet paper.
