In this blog, we write a review of the results of our group discussion about the video that Mr.Azwandi shared previously. In the video, there is a lot of information that opens our minds about the course we are currently taking, namely, cross-culture understanding. No need to elaborate, let's get straight to the point. Here are some questions from Mr.Azwandi regarding the video.

1.
What major issues the speaker is delivering,
Answer : The main issue raised by the speaker is about
cross-cultural understanding in communicating. in the video, Pellegrino also
mentions a lot about the different customs of each nation. because culture is a
system of behavior that helps us act in ways that are accepted or known, if
something is known then it will be well received by others. For example, People
appreciate someone who speaks English with a clear accent more than an Italian
accent because they don't know that accent before. Of course, if there are many
differences between cultures, they are prone to misunderstanding and discomfort
with each other. In his presentation, Pellegrino opens insight so that everyone
can speak regardless of nationalities, especially in global business.
2.
What cultures he is utilizing to present his
points
Answer : Peregllino uses Norwegian culture in
conveying his point, he compares customs, behavior, and language in cases that
often occur in society, in other cultures such as Italy, England, Finland.
As Pellegrino puts it "we all do the same thing
in slightly different ways" in this regard, Pellegrino uses comparisons of
Norwegian culture and other cultures to convey these points to avoid
vulnerability to misunderstanding and discomfort with one another. because of
these differences, there is a difference in the response of the interlocutor.
3.
What three important points he is emphasizing in
his talk.
Answer : Three important points are :
1. Perception
(Understanding what People See)
"People see what they want to see, they don't
always see what you see"
There are so many perceptions that arise when
discussing just one thing, such as
Like "we look at the same picture and use
completely different words to describe it"
Basically, we all do the same thing but in a different way, Pellegrino emphasizes that, which aims not to make us not care about our own perceptions and accept other perceptions because every person, every region always has a different perception according to their culture. each, even though the goal is the same, just in a different way.
2. Curiosity
Ask a simple curious question, then pick words that interest
you.
YOU HAVE TO BE CURIOUS TO UNDERSTAND OTHERS
misperception is when we focus on negative sides
3. Rules Are
Different In Others
It is not about changing cultures it’s about Expanding your
culture and merging all the positive aspects of each culture. This is called a
Global Mindset... This makes the world round take out the good sides of each
and then extend your cultural boundary. Of course, it's easier said than done
and struggles come along with it, but eventually, that's how you grow and
that's how the world goes around.
Okay, that’s all from us… hopefully
can provide benefits for all of us. There is no need to be afraid if you are
wrong because everyone has different thoughts. Enjoy your day guys! Thank you.
A good delivery of video content. The points contained are also easy to understand and the contents are clear. The conclusions given are also in accordance with what was discussed.
BalasHapusGood job from group 2. Hello im ananta from blog 1 really appreciate your points
BalasHapusYes i'm agree it is interesting how culture shapes and how we talk it also determine what people Mean when they say something of that something is understood differently in another cuture.
BalasHapusIt is very interesting to study how Pellegrino conveys something using culture, the points that he wants to convey can be understood by comparing the behavior, habits, language, in each different culture so that the audience can understand that every place or culture has its own perception but basically we all do it. the same thing but in a different way, pereglino tells that to avoid the vulnerability of misunderstanding each other
BalasHapusvery good conclusions. This video also contains a lot of cross-cultural material, we can understand more about this course.
BalasHapusVery nice conclusion, easy to understand the point
BalasHapusThis is a very good conclusion. This video contains a lot of material about cross-cultural. The delivery of this video content is very good and the points contained are easy to understand and the content is very clear.
BalasHapusYes i think so, that's seems very subjective,so there is a assumption for choosing which culture is right.
BalasHapusThe video shows an example across culture which is very interesting and informative. What Pellegrino said that you need to accepting yourself, and start to learning about other cultures. And lastly , The examples itself were very important which is shows the originality of different cultures.
BalasHapusI can understand that cross-cultural communication involves understanding the way culturally different individuals communicate with one another.
BalasHapusthats great, I agree with that conclusion. this video is also easy to understand about comparing behavior, habits, language, in every different culture, and every place has its own culture.
